      What does it mean when a WHOIS lookup returns no information?

      Understand the reasons why an IP address may not be found in a WHOIS search.

      When a domain or IP address is not found in a WHOIS search there are several  potential reasons:

      • The domain name is not currently registered by an accredited ICANN registrar (most common);

      • The domain name has entered the 'Redemption/Delete' period;

      • The WHOIS server for that domain is not providing data to us; or 

      • The TLD (top-level domain) is not supported by Email Hippo.
